At the end of March we travelled to the 2015 ECIS conference hosted by the Bavarian International School in Munich. We were delighted to be asked to give two presentations, on boosting participation in e-learning, and on getting the best value out of Moodle.
It was great to meet up with so many e-learning enthusiasts, both existing clients and new faces, and we came away from the event energised by the conversations and ideas we shared. We also managed to catch up with a number of other suppliers to compare notes, and discuss how we can better collaborate on shaping the future of e-learning.
We were pleased to find there was a lot of interest in Titus Learning Platform, and also in our Moodle services generally. With the conference themed around building engagement, it was perhaps no surprise that many of the conversations centred around ideas for getting more value out of the VLE and ensuring widespread usage within school. A core theme for many delegates seemed to be usability – we spent a lot of time discussing our thoughts on effective theme and interface design.
The other presenters set the bar very high in terms of quality content and we found something useful in each one we attended. Highlights for us included David Beaty from the International School of Stavanger on improving technical support, Don Carlson of Autodesk on the future of 3D printing and automation, and Johnson Jacob of the American International School of Bucharest who delivered a great session on building your own mobile apps.
Being in Munich, it would have been rude to leave without also sampling the local Bavarian beers, which we did with enthusiasm whilst debriefing on the conference. Thanks to all at ECIS for making us feel so welcome. If you’d like a copy of either of our presentations, please get in touch and we’ll be happy to send you the files.
