ISO 9001 – Now we’ve got it, but what does it mean?

Innovation

July 20, 2020

If you’ve looked at the Titus website recently, you may have seen a new addition to the badges found within our footer. That badge is our BSI ISO 9001 certification which we recently achieved.

What is the ISO 9001 certification?

Firstly, a quality management system (QMS) is the processes a business has in place to meet customers’ needs and requirements. These cover a number of different areas such as the way a business handles customers’ data, the process of completing support tickets, all the way through to how a company answers the phone and addresses peoples’ enquiries. All businesses will have a quality management system to some degree.

The ISO 9001 is the international standard for a quality management system, a framework applicable to all businesses worldwide to measure the strength of their QMS. In order to achieve the ISO 9001 certificate, a company must go through a rigorous process which examines all their current procedures and offers suggestions and improvements they can implement to meet the framework.

Once a company meets this framework, this certifies the companies ability to consistently provide products and customer services that meet customer and regulatory requirements. The ISO 9001 framework also sets in place procedures that make sure a company constantly strives to improve these procedures.

Who are BSI?

BSI are one of the most widely regarded organisations when it comes to driving standards in business. They have a long history, dating back over a century and have been responsible for countless innovations where business processes are concerned. They work with some of the most successful businesses in the world, with over 128,000 in 193 countries and are globally recognised as a symbol of trust in business.

What does it mean for Titus customers?

Essentially, this means that the products and customer service that we offer to you will be better and will constantly continue to improve. We’ve aligned our business procedures with the ISO standards to demonstrate our commitment to constantly proving the best service we possibly can.

Here at Titus, we have always prided ourselves with the service we can offer you, our customers, and have always sought to break the mould on what a business should expect from their LMS provider. Through us undertaking the ISO 9001 standard, we have reaffirmed our commitment to this promise.

Seb Francis, Co-founder and Director of Titus said “Achieving the ISO 9001 accreditation through a highly regarded organisation like BSI is a testament to the dedication and high levels of service offered by our team.

Having grown substantially as a business in recent years, quality assurance has been at the forefront of our values as a company – achieving this accreditation reflects the success of our hard work and adds further levels of confidence for new and existing customers who work with us.

As we continue to grow, we will continue to challenge ourselves to maintain the highest quality management systems possible and will aim to achieve further levels of accreditation to reflect this.”
