Hierarchies

December 20, 2022

Hierarchies within Totara Learn allow you to map learning requirements to job positions and organisation levels. By illustrating your organisational structures within your learning management system, training needs can be managed quickly and effectively.

Managers can create the organisational frameworks and then automatically map and assign learning to individual roles, levels, teams and departments.

The option to associate positional and organisation hierarchies with specific skills and competencies means learning plans, audiences and report content filtering can be position and organisation specific.

Build Competency Structures

Compliance and competency structures can be created across all departments and job roles within your organisation thanks to Totara Learn’s support for multiple competency frameworks.

Once competencies have been achieved, they can be linked to the completion of one or more courses within Totara Learn. Any external assessments undertaken can be included as evidence and then linked to specific items in an individual’s learning plan. Where competency levels need to be assessed across learners and individual competencies prioritised, organisation-specific scales may also be created within Totara Learn.

Sync Hierarchies with Changes to Organisation Structure

Changes to your organisation’s structure can be synced via Totara Learn’s dedicated HR import functionality which enables you to directly import and update all users, competencies and hierarchies from your organisation’s HR system.

Generate Targeted Reports

A single report can be generated for a range of shareholder groups by configuring either built-in or custom reports to filter results based on audiences, positions and sections of your organisation.
