As the UK’s National Metrology Institute, NPL develops and maintains the national primary measurement standards, providing world-leading solutions to public and private sector organisations. Their work facilitates trade and prosperity, powers research and innovation and improves quality of life.
As part of their remit, NPL offers a range of training courses and qualifications to both academic and industry clients—much of it centred around scientific and mathematical learning. Prior to engaging with Titus, they had been using digital learning to some extent, but their existing system was limited in scope and lacked the functionality to support their long term goals.
Titus designed and developed a custom Moodle LMS which is capable of accommodating the technical content NPL requires, is aligned with the NPL brand and aesthetic, and facilitates easy access for a diverse group of STEM learners. The platform includes a user-focused intuitive interface to reduce excessive onboarding overheads.
Our work with NPL has transformed digital learning within the organisation and helped build high levels of learner engagement and attainment.
Moodle LMS gives NPL and its users a rich learning environment including an extensive range of resource formats, activities and assessment types.
Course leaders have many more options in terms of the real-time data they have access to and the channels available to support learners.
NPL can now offer truly blended training programmes, combining online learning with classroom tuition, remote sessions and individual study.
The Moodle LMS platform makes it easy to manage initial assessments, pre-course learning, automatic grading and online course registration.
The extensive options for customisation available via Moodle LMS allow NPL to offer personalised learning pathways at an individual level.
With such a diverse group of learners, in terms of skills, background and role, this is a vital ingredient in keeping each user engaged and focused.
