Moodle LMS

Governmental Body

“We are the public body that helps people care for, enjoy and celebrate England's spectacular historic environment.”

Managing all aspects of England's historic environment and its heritage asset

Historic England is a non-departmental public body of the British Government, sponsored by the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport. Its duties include scheduling ancient monuments, maintaining historic buildings, registering landmark parks and gardens, and advising the national and local governments to preserve England’s historic environment.

As part of its remit, Historic England provides advice, training and guidance to improve the standards and skills of those working in heritage, and therefore were seeking an eLearning solution that could support them in sharing this content in a more engaging way.

Titus worked alongside Historic England to develop a custom learning platform that could provide a range of interactive online learning resources to be distributed among its members, beneficiaries, and the wider heritage community.

Moodle —supporting England's heritage conservation.

Our work with Heritage England saw us develop a platform which is in-line with their branding and securely hosted on Amazon Web Services, that could distribute their eLearning content to over 6000 members.

Accessibility Standards

One requirement of the platform is that it must adhere to particular accessibility requirements, such as compliance with WCAG 2.1 A-AAA.

Titus built the custom Moodle solution to align with the compliance requirements, which were reviewed in an accessibility audit carried out by Historic England Digital.

G-Cloud

Procurement for the Historic England eLearning project took place through the Government’s G-Cloud Framework, which hosts all of the companies that can offer cloud-based digital solutions to public bodies.

For Titus to be listed on the framework and awarded this contract, we had to demonstrate our commitment to high levels of service, quality and security.

Robust and secure hosting

As a Government body, data security and platform stability were integral factors in Historic England choosing the provider to work with on this project.

Our UK-based Amazon Web Services hosting solution is fully compliant with the security requirements of Historic England, and we can guarantee a platform uptime of over 99%.
