Improving the health, social and economic wellbeing of young parents and their babies.

The Family Nurse Partnership (FNP) is a home visiting programme for first-time young mothers and families. It aims to ensure the health of mothers throughout their pregnancy and improve the health and development of their newborn children. Specially trained family nurses visit mothers and families at home to offer advice on key issues including parent-child attachment, breastfeeding, immunising your baby, child development and school readiness.

As part of their service, FNP offers a range of online resources for mothers and families via their LMS. They approached Titus as the platform they were previously using was not serving their needs, and they wanted to move to a custom Moodle with a more engaging design and user-friendly interface.

Titus developed a new Moodle LMS platform for FNP including a new brand-aligned theme to make it easy for non-technical users to access the resources on offer and navigate to the most relevant content for their needs and migrated existing course content from the legacy site to the new LMS as part of the implementation project.

Moodle—supporting young mothers and early-years children.

Our work with FNP has helped more people gain access to the valuable resources and guidance available via the online platform.

Ease of access

One of the key project goals was to create a more user-friendly platform which would boost engagement by lowering the barrier to entry for FNP’s users.

Titus implemented a custom theme, designed in alignment with the latest UXD guidelines, ensuring users could navigate the platform without formal training.

Content migration

As part of the project, FNP wished to archive their existing online learning content and informational resources and make them available via the new LMS.

Our content team ensured that all pre-existing content was imported to Moodle in a compatible, ready-to-use format ahead of the launch date.

Educational impact

Family Nurse Partnership (FNP) improves child development and school readiness at age 5 (Early Years Foundation Stage).

This advantage persists in attainment at age 7 (Key Stage 1), particularly for boys, the children of mothers aged under 16, and of mothers not in education, employment or training.
