Moodle Workplace

Non-Profit

Accredited counselling courses and talking therapies.

Enabling highly engaging online learning for over 3,000 trainees.

Chrysalis Courses is the UK’s market-leading trainer in accredited counselling courses and talking therapies, with venues throughout the UK. They approached Titus to deliver a custom Moodle platform which would allow them to move their training provision entirely online — both to serve their existing 3,000 trainees and to allow for international expansion.

Titus designed and implemented a bespoke Moodle e-learning platform, including a brand-specific theme design, allowing Chrysalis to make their entire course catalogue available online, and track and report on learner progress against custom competency-based frameworks.

Titus configured the hosting infrastructure to support the current user base of 3,000 while incorporating elastic scaling capabilities to handle future growth. In addition, we provided a named contact at Titus to coordinate proactive technical support and management of the platform for optimal performance and ran one-to-one training sessions for key team members at Chrysalis ahead of the platform launch.

Our work with Chrysalis has made their training provision more efficient in terms of staffing and physical resources required, which in turn has laid the groundwork for selling course access outside the UK.

A positive customer experience

Since the launch, the response from users has been overwhelmingly positive, with particular praise for the ease with which the platform was rolled out, and the support received.

Managing Director Ross Elliot agreed, commenting, “The support continues to be first class. What has really impressed me is the launch. Titus has been amazing with our team and implementing the more specific requirements of our business.”

Time and cost savings, from day one

From launch, Chrysalis was able to realise substantial savings in both direct and indirect costs, with increasing amounts of staff time freed up as well as a notable reduction in the printing and distribution of physical media.

“The impact has been significant,” Ross says, “Particularly in terms of cost and time savings as we have moved away from paper-based learning. Overall we have had a positive response.”

Facilitating international expansion

With courses now available entirely online, Ross is also looking at expanding the Chrysalis learner base to other countries, something which had not been possible previously.

“We see the project taking our business onto the next level,” he predicts, “both in the way we deliver training and how we can interact with users — i.e. using video. We have the opportunity to take the training abroad as all the info sits on the LMS.”
