Custom Moodle Content

“We are inspired by the people we serve, by the difference we can make, and by our commitment to each other.”

Working to end the pain and suffering caused by eating disorders.

Founded in 1989 as the Eating Disorders Association, Beat is a registered charity that exists to support people living with eating disorders, as well as their families and friends, through a combination of campaigning, fundraising, education and practical intervention, including running confidential national helplines.

As part of its remit to educate and inform Beat was seeking to offer a range of interactive online learning resources to build a better understanding of eating disorders and their effects among its members and beneficiaries as well as the wider public.

Working in partnership with Spokes Education, Titus is leading the development of 30 micro-learning modules using Articulate Rise, which will be imported and made available through Beat’s learning management system.

Custom Moodle content—helping to educate and inform.

Our work with Beat is providing targeted, condition-specific resources to help those living with eating disorders, and those supporting them.

Introductory content

The first batch of modules produced includes a range of introductory topics, suitable for both affected parties and the wider public to develop their knowledge of eating disorders.

Topics include spotting the signs of eating disorders, supporting school-age children, caring strategies, and general advice on self-esteem and body image.

Condition-specific resources

One of the key drivers of the content development project was to make detailed support and information available to those living with eating disorders themselves.

The content pack includes specific modules sorted by condition, with in-depth information on anorexia, bulimia, and binge-eating disorder, among others.

Support for family and carers

As well as people living with eating disorders, Beat’s remit extends to supporting families, friends and carers of those affected by these conditions.

To address their needs, topics covered as part of the project include self-care for carers, referral services, accommodating behaviours, and motivational interviewing.
