1st4Sport Qualifications is an awarding organisation that specialises in offering vocational and occupational qualifications in the active leisure, learning and well-being sector. Traditionally, 1st4Sport delivered its training courses offline.
1st4Sport commissioned Titus to develop a bespoke e-learning system that would host its library of thousands of physical resources, and facilitate the delivery of learning programmes, CPD courses, endpoint assessments and apprenticeships via the web.
Working closely with the team at 1st4Sport, Titus designed a custom Moodle installation featuring a bespoke theme, developed to maximise ease of navigation and usability while accurately reflecting the organisation’s existing branding.
Our work with 1st4Sport has enabled them to move thousands of paper-based courses online to deliver manageable distance training, with minimal disruption.
A key part of the solution was the inclusion of multi-tenancy capability, meaning 1st4Sport would be able to offer its partner organisations their own instances of the platform — known as “tenants” — which can be spun up within days.
Each tenant LMS inherits the same functionality and features but with individually tailored branding — significantly reducing admin overheads and infrastructure costs compared to building separate platforms for each partner.
Prior to the launch of the new platform, the number of physical resources 1st4Sport had to provide was huge and the logistics surrounding their delivery posed a significant challenge.
The new Moodle platform has reduced the admin workload significantly — which has cut costs. And Moodle’s analysis and reporting tool give 1st4Sport real-time insights into how their resources are used — something that was essentially impossible before.
During the implementation period, 1st4Sport praised the proactive approach of the Titus Learning team, and how this made such an extensive project easily manageable.
As part of the solution, 1st4Sport received multiple training webinars during the first year after implementation, as well as access to online resources and face-to-face training sessions throughout the lifetime of the contract.
