Moodle Case Study: Dulwich College Suzhou

Untitled drawing (6)When Titus Learning first met with Dulwich College Suzhou the school was seeking a suitable partner to provide support and guidance on making the best use of their existing Moodle installation, as well as further improving and extending the platform. Dulwich College was also keen to integrate their Moodle learning platform with SIMS, to allow better sharing of data.

As well as fulfilling the technological requirements, the school was also looking to work with a company who could best advise them on improving engagement and uptake of the platform, so that their Moodle would become a key tool in day-to-day school life for teaching staff, administrators and students.

Following an initial consultation, Dulwich College opted to work with Titus Learning to transition their existing LMS to a fully managed Moodle, hosted on their own servers at the school’s premises in Suzhou, China. This would allow Titus Learning full access  to manage the LMS and infrastructure remotely, while ensuring the best possible performance for users accessing the Moodle within school.

As part of the transition, Titus Learning also implemented full integration between the school’s Moodle platform and the SIMS management information system, allowing Dulwich College staff to update live information in the MIS through the learning platform, as well as viewing real time updates from SIMS via the Moodle.

For administrators, the integration allows automated creation of user accounts and courses, auto-enrollment of staff and students into courses, and automatic bulk updates such as changing students’ year groups at year end – all saving them valuable time.

With the new platform launched and training completed for staff, Dulwich College now benefit from our proactive support system, which includes remote monitoring of the learning platform, regular security patches and version updates in step with the official Moodle releases, and advice and guidance on how to continue to improve and adapt the platform to ensure users remain engaged.
