Over the last decade, podcasts have boomed in popularity. With over 540 million listeners worldwide, they have quickly become one of the most popular ways people consume content today. While many podcasts fall under the entertainment umbrella, one thing that has also coincided with their growing popularity is the number of podcasts that aim to educate their audience.
It’s not surprising that this method of communication has become synonymous with learning. The modern person leads an incredibly busy life, and the opportunity to sit down and listen exclusively to a learning resource has shrunk, so a method of learning that people can partake in whilst performing other tasks, such as work or commuting, was always going to rise to the top eventually.
To help you find the best podcasts for learning in 2025, we've compiled a list of our top 10:
STUFF YOU SHOULD KNOW
For who? People with a vested interest in ‘general knowledge.’
If you’ve ever been around a child asking, ‘what is that’? about everything they see; this podcast is like the adult version of that. Each episode focuses on a different subject, and you’ll likely be familiar with it, but how well do you truly understand it? From Minecraft to Genghis Khan, each episode deep dives into the history of the chosen subject. With no discernable order and over 1500 episodes available, this is a good one to dive into.
Revisionist History
For who? People with an interest in world history
Hosted by Malcolm Gladwell since 2017, the Revisionist History podcast ties together questions about the world we live in today and the historical context which explains why the present world is the way that it is. For example, a deep dive into the ‘broken window’ theory and how this philosophy affects modern policing efforts.
The podcast is the true definition of a ‘deep dive’ and provides a wealth of information about some of history’s most fascinating and often horrifying characters.

The podcast aims to explore and deconstruct some of the world’s most successful people and provide actionable tactics and guides you can implement in your own life to drive your success.
Behind The Bastards
For who? People interested in the story behind some of the world’s worst people
Like Revisionist History, the Behind The Bastards podcast deep-dives into the story behind some of history’s most famous people, with the twist that they are all truly awful.
Although it can sometimes be a difficult listen given the subject matter, the show’s host provides a macabre comedy and pokes fun at the absurdity of some of the stories.
Radiolab
For who? Curious minds interested in exploring a range of topics
Radiolab is truly a maverick in the way it blends a wide range of different topic moments into one captivating and thought-provoking podcast. Touching on subjects as wide-ranging as extraterrestrials to the state of democracy, Radiolab is best described as one of those podcasts that makes you feel smarter the more you listen.
Couple this with some excellent sound production, this is a popular one worth checking out.
The Rest Is Politics
For who? For those who are interested in politics
The first of our listed podcasts with a political focus is The Rest Is Politics podcast, hosted by journalist turned strategist and spokesman for Tony Blair, Alastair Campbell and former diplomat and Conservative politician Rory Stewart. They combined forces to form the biggest political podcast in the UK.
This one is a fan favourite at the Titus offices and offers a palatable insight into politics and discussions around some of the more significant questions being asked. There is also a US counterpart, although we can’t personally comment on how good it is.
Encyclopedia Wommanica
For who? For listeners who appreciate bite-sized learning content on inspiring female figures
It is another history podcast, but this time focused on the incredible women throughout history, such as Associate Justice of the Supreme Court Ruth Bader Ginsburg and American poet and civil rights activist Maya Angelou.
What’s unique about this podcast is that each episode takes place in 5-minute minisodes, making them an excellent form of informative bite-sized learning.
