The Manage User Roles & Permissions feature in Moodle LMS simplifies access control and role management across the platform. It ensures that every user has the right tools and permissions to perform their role efficiently
Moodle’s Manage User Roles & Permissions feature simplifies access management, ensuring users have the right tools and permissions to work efficiently. Administrators can easily customise roles, providing instructors, learners, and staff with access tailored to their specific needs – removing the noise and improving focus.
With flexible, secure role management, organisations can protect sensitive data while empowering users to work seamlessly. Whether you’re managing a small group or a large organisation, Moodle offers the customisation you need to maintain control.
By reducing administrative burden and streamlining workflows, this feature improves efficiency, enhances security, and ensures a smooth user experience – helping organisations scale and optimise their learning environment.
Assign precise responsibilities by tailoring user roles to match institutional or organisational requirements. Create unique roles, such as “Teaching Assistant” or “Guest Reviewer,” with customised permissions.
Restrict sensitive data and functionality to authorised users only. Moodle’s role management reduces the risk of unauthorised access and safeguards the platform’s integrity.
Save time by using predefined roles and batch-assign permissions, ensuring consistent role management across courses and groups.
Admins can define precise access for viewing, editing, or grading content, ensuring the right permissions for each activity.
Assign roles at site, course, or activity levels, with higher roles inheriting permissions from lower ones for easy management.
Manage access with precision by setting permissions based on the context, whether that’s the site, course, or specific activity level, giving you ultimate flexibility in user management.
Assign users multiple roles, allowing them to take on different responsibilities across courses or activities
