Superdry is a global fashion brand founded in the UK, operating across 53 countries with a workforce of over 5,000 employees spanning head office, regional teams, and retail locations. Known for its distinctive design aesthetic and commitment to sustainable craftsmanship, Superdry requires a consistent and scalable approach to training across its international operations.

As the business grew, its existing LMS made it difficult to effectively manage compliance training, generate clear reporting insights, and deliver engaging on-demand learning to a geographically dispersed workforce. Superdry needed a flexible, branded platform that could support global compliance requirements while also enabling professional development and long-term capability building.

Partnering with Titus, Superdry implemented a customised Moodle Workplace solution tailored to their workflows, structure, and brand. This enabled seamless delivery of mandatory training, improved compliance tracking, and expanded access to professional development across the organisation.

The Challenge: An outdated, off-brand system that limiting global growth

Prior to implementing Moodle Workplace, Superdry relied on a basic learning management system that struggled to meet the company’s evolving training needs.

The existing platform was particularly ineffective for tracking and reporting, making it difficult to manage compliance training for their employees. As health and safety requirements became more stringent, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, Superdry recognised the need for a more robust and flexible Learning Management System (LMS).

1. Limited reporting capabilities
The old platform did not provide sufficient visibility into training progress or compliance status across regions, making it difficult to track and manage learning effectively.

2. Poor user experience
Complex login processes and usability challenges created friction for employees, impacting engagement and adoption.

3. Lack of customisation and branding
The system offered limited flexibility to reflect Superdry’s brand identity, reducing overall learner connection and engagement.

4. Ineffective management of mandatory compliance training
During stricter COVID-19 health and safety requirements, the platform struggled to support global compliance tracking and oversight at scale.

The Solution: A Branded Platform Built for Ease of Use

To address these challenges, Superdry needed a flexible, scalable learning platform that could support global compliance, improve user experience, and deliver ongoing professional development. The organisation selected Moodle Workplace, implemented in partnership with Titus, to create a tailored solution aligned with their workflows, brand, and long-term strategy.

The approach focused on co-creation, shared values, and continuous improvement. Titus’ people-first, collaborative methodology, combined with a commitment to transparency and flexible, best-fit solutions, made us the ideal partner to design a platform that would evolve with Superdry’s needs.

The implementation was delivered in phased stages:

Phase 1: Foundation and Compliance (Shinpo - “Progress”)

The initial phase focused on resolving login challenges, improving the learner experience, and customising the platform’s branding and structure. Mandatory compliance training, including data protection and diversity courses, was rolled out globally, establishing clear reporting and visibility while creating a strong foundation for future development.

Phase 2: Embedding a Learning Culture (People Hub V2)

With compliance stabilised, Superdry expanded the platform beyond mandatory training. Refresher cycles were introduced, alongside content supporting managers’ wellbeing, DEI initiatives, and curated on-demand soft and technical skills training. This phase resulted in the organisation’s highest-ever compliance completion rate of 95% and significantly increased learner engagement.

Phase 3: A Learner-Centred Ecosystem (People Hub V3)

The latest evolution focuses on integrating learning into everyday work life. Enhancements include retail-specific content, greater flexibility in content providers, integration with wider HR and business systems, and improved accessibility features. The platform has transformed from a compliance-focused system into a dynamic, learner-centred ecosystem that supports performance, inclusion, and growth across the organisation.

Through this phased and strategic approach, Moodle Workplace has enabled Superdry to move from an outdated system to a scalable, fully branded learning environment that supports compliance, engagement, and long-term capability building worldwide.

The Future: Expanding Learning Beyond Compliance

The platform’s flexibility, combined with support from Titus, has allowed Superdry to quickly adapt to changing business needs during a period of transition. Moodle Workplace has also enabled Superdry to expand its training offerings beyond compliance, including soft skills development and targeted content for initiatives such as Pride and Black History Month.

Looking ahead, Superdry plans to extend Moodle Workplace to retail teams to streamline compliance training and introduce on-demand soft skills development. They will also implement multi-language and accessibility features to support their global, inclusive workforce.

Superdry’s partnership with Titus continues to evolve, with a clear focus on creating a flexible people-first learning experience that grows alongside the business.

From foundational compliance to strategic skills development and learner empowerment, this journey illustrates how a thoughtful LMS implementation can transform employee learning and business impact.
