Course Content

Course creation

Courses can be created by administrator and academic accounts. British Gymnastics users will be able to create a course from the site administration section of the Moodle Workplace Platform.

Once you’ve populated the basics such as name and visibility, you’ll then be able to begin to create the format and appearance of the course. Please note that your implementation consultant will work with you to determine the correct structure and formatting based upon your requirements. Other configuration options are then available to set groups within the course and also the visibility of features like the Gradebook.

Once you have created the course you then customise the content and format within a specific module to include different activity types and resources which you can choose to make available to your students.

Content/Course Upload

Courses can be uploaded in bulk to the platform into the Moodle platform via CSV file and the platform also supports the upload of SCORM and H5P packages.

Administrators can upload a course through the site administration settings in the same menu where you will find the ability to create a course. Simply click the upload course button and drag and drop into the box provided.

Programs

Programs allow you to establish learning pathways for your employees by adding a combination of courses or a hierarchical sequence of courses. Programs can consist of related courses leading to certification following completion of the program.

A program consists of courses and sets; both are optional and can be arranged in any order. A set contains one or more courses that have to be completed. Interestingly, a set can also contain another set — a great vehicle for creating hierarchical curricula. The recursive structure of programs is depicted in the following diagram:

Learners can see all programs they are allocated to on their Dashboard and self-enrol into the program courses by clicking on them. Some program courses may not be available until prerequisites have been met.
